*CENTCOM: International Shipping Lanes in Strait of Hormuz Cleared of Iranian Mines* CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper says U.S. forces have cleared Iranian sea mines from the internationally recognized shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz. Cooper said nearly 1,500 commercial vessels have crossed the strait under U.S. protection in recent months, carrying roughly 750 million barrels of oil. He also said no Iranian oil tankers have been allowed through since the U.S. renewed its naval blockade in mid-July. “International shipping lanes are open, and momentum is building,” Cooper said.
