*Real Madrid Stars Distance Themselves From Ceuta Solidarity Gesture* Real Madrid players Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Jr. and Ibrahima Konaté drew controversy after declining to visibly display a solidarity message for residents of Ceuta following this summer’s mass illegal border crossings from Morocco. While other Real Madrid and Elche players displayed shirts reading “Todos somos caballas,” the three players rolled theirs up, obscuring the message. Mbappé and Vinícius removed the shirts before the others. Real Madrid backed the solidarity initiative but defended its players’ freedom to make their own decision. The players have not publicly explained their motives, despite speculation surrounding the politically sensitive Spanish-Moroccan dispute.
