*Businessman With Ties to Netanyahu and Herzog Dies* Israeli businessman Moti Sander, who had close ties to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog, has died. In 2019, Sander recorded Netanyahu promising then-Labor Party leader Avi Gabbay that he would never form a coalition with Avigdor Liberman. The discussions nearly led to a government that could have prevented Israel's second election that year. In 2026, Sander also claimed that Netanyahu and Herzog had held talks before the presidential election involving a possible pardon and plea deal. Both sides denied the allegations.
