*UN Probe Found Nine UNRWA Workers May Have Been Involved in October 7 Attack* A UN internal investigation into allegations against UNRWA personnel found that evidence concerning nine employees, if authenticated and corroborated, could indicate their involvement in the Hamas-led October 7 attack on Israel. UNRWA subsequently terminated all nine employees. The investigation examined allegations involving 19 UNRWA staff members. In the remaining cases, investigators either found no evidence or insufficient evidence to support the allegations. *COMMENT:* The “nice humanitarian workers” of UNRWA. When employees of a UN agency created to provide humanitarian assistance are investigated over possible involvement in the October 7 massacre, serious questions must be asked about the organization’s oversight and accountability. Humanitarian status should never provide a shield from scrutiny.
