*Iran Releases Footage of Supertanker Incident Near Strait of Hormuz* Iranian media released footage reportedly showing the supertanker El Gaia following an incident south of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran claims the vessel entered a restricted area while attempting to transit the region. The IRGC Navy separately claims the Strait of Hormuz is closed and under its control, warning that vessels attempting to use what it describes as unsafe routes could face “incidents.” The circumstances surrounding the tanker incident have not been independently verified.
