*Lebanon Sees Progress in Talks to Return Billions in Frozen Bank Deposits* Lebanon's Central Bank Governor, Karim Souaid, expects a breakthrough by the end of the year in negotiations with the International Monetary Fund over returning billions of dollars in frozen bank deposits. Speaking to Bloomberg, Souaid said talks are progressing at a good pace. The proposed law would determine how Lebanon's government, central bank and commercial banks share responsibility for repaying depositors who lost access to their savings during the country's financial collapse. The agreement could mark an important step toward restoring confidence in Lebanon's shattered banking system. Photo: Karim Souaid, Governor of Lebanon's Central Bank.
