Report: Houthis Developing Advanced Ballistic Missile With Chinese Components, Putting Israel Within Range The Houthis in Yemen are reportedly working to develop their own version of Iran's Kheibar Shekan ballistic missile, with a potential range of approximately 1,900 kilometers. According to The Wall Street Journal, citing research by Conflict Armament Research, two shipments intercepted in Yemen in 2025 contained Chinese-sourced engine components, missile body parts, stabilizing fins, and manufacturing equipment. The findings raise concerns that the Iran-backed group is seeking independent production capabilities for advanced ballistic missiles capable of reaching Israel and Saudi Arabia.
