*Syrian President Jokes About Giving New Jersey to Israel* Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa said he joked with President Trump about giving New Jersey to Israel after Trump told him the Golan Heights belongs to Israel. “Why don’t you give New Jersey to the Israelis?” al-Sharaa recalled joking, noting that the state has many Democrats who do not vote for Trump. Al-Sharaa then turned serious, arguing that Trump could not give Israel territory that Syria claims as its own. Israel Online note: New Jersey has not yet responded to the proposed Middle East peace plan.
