*Expert: UK Sanctions Could Hurt Palestinians More Than Israel* Lt. Col. (res.) Maurice Hirsch, who heads the Palestinian Authority Accountability and Reform Initiative at the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs, warns that British sanctions targeting Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria could ultimately hurt the Palestinian economy. Hirsch said about 40,000 Palestinians currently work in Israeli communities in the area. Citing Palestinian data, he also said 96% of Palestinian exports are sold to Israel. If Israel responds with similar restrictions on Palestinian goods, Hirsch warned, “the Israeli economy will survive. The Palestinian Authority will completely collapse.”
