*U.S. Set to Complete Military Withdrawal From Iraq* U.S. forces are set to leave their remaining bases in Iraq by Wednesday, bringing to an end a military presence that began with the 2003 invasion. The withdrawal was agreed under the Biden administration and is being completed under President Trump. Iran and its allied militias are celebrating the departure as a strategic victory. For Israel, the change could have regional security implications as the U.S. footprint in Iraq has provided intelligence, logistical and counterterrorism capabilities along a strategically important corridor between Iran, Iraq and Syria. Concerns are now focused on whether Iran-backed militias will gain greater freedom of movement and influence after the American departure.
