Republican Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman is within four points of Gov. Kathy Hochul in a new poll, putting the challenger within striking distance in this year’s New York governor’s race. The McLaughlin & Associates survey, conducted for the Blakeman campaign, found Hochul leading Blakeman 49.6% to 45.7% among likely voters, with 4.7% undecided. The poll surveyed 800 likely voters from Aug. 27-31. The results, reported by the New York Post, show Blakeman with a significantly smaller deficit than a Siena College poll released last month, which had Hochul ahead 49% to 39%.
