PM Netanyahu reveals at an elections gathering with the Druze community that he spoke with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa briefly last year during the killings of Druze in Suwayda, and that after the phone call, "the massacre stopped." "We took down the Ministry of Defense in Damascus, just like that, it’s gone. We struck inside the (Presidential) Palace compound, and I made a phone call to al-Sharaa. It was a very brief, very sharp conversation, and the massacre stopped," Netanyahu said. "I will do whatever is necessary to protect our brethren, your brothers and ours. We will not allow the massacre to continue; we must also ensure people can return to their homes. There is still work to be done. I cannot share every detail. But this commitment comes from the very depths of my soul."
