A former Palestinian Authority minister has publicly identified himself as the intermediary who, according to a recent investigation, relayed a warning from then-Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar to Israeli intelligence weeks before the Oct. 7, 2023, attack. Sufian Abu Zaida, a former Fatah official and PA minister from Gaza, said in a video posted Friday to Facebook that he was the previously unnamed source known as “Coal Eyes” who conveyed Sinwar’s warning to Israel.
