⚖️ DOJ APPEALS DISMISSAL OF HARVARD ANTISEMITISM CASE: The Justice Department has appealed a federal judge’s Aug. 13 dismissal of its Title VI lawsuit against Harvard, asking the First Circuit to revive the case and potentially recover nearly $1 billion in federal grants. The government alleges Harvard failed to adequately protect Jewish and Israeli students following Oct. 7, 2023. judge Richard Stearns ruled the cited incidents were too “isolated and episodic” to establish ongoing noncompliance after Harvard was formally notified in June 2025, and said Title VI is designed to secure future compliance rather than punish past conduct. The administration already has two other Harvard-related appeals pending before the same court.
