ISRAELI-FOUNDED VARONIS TO BE ACQUIRED BY PROOFPOINT IN $6.3 BILLION DEAL: Cybersecurity company Varonis, founded in 2005 by Yaki Faitelson and Ohad Korkus, has agreed to be acquired by U.S. cybersecurity firm Proofpoint in an all-cash deal worth about $6.3 billion. Shareholders will receive $49.75 per share, a 52% premium to the stock’s price before takeover rumors emerged in June. The deal, unanimously approved by Varonis’ board, is expected to close in the first half of 2027, pending shareholder and regulatory approvals.
