Germany has officially attributed the August 4 attempted drone attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport to Russia, saying the explosive-laden drone found near a Ukrainian Antonov cargo aircraft bore hallmarks of Russian hybrid operations. The device, containing Semtex and PETN, failed to detonate, while investigators also examined a second drone incident at the airport. Berlin responded by announcing the closure of Russia's consulate in Bonn and the Russian House in Berlin, along with tighter restrictions on Russian nationals. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt warned that Germany remains a target of Russian hybrid warfare.
