The U.S. Army has unveiled a portable electronic warfare system nicknamed “Hammer of the Gods," designed to jam the positioning, navigation, and timing signals that precision-guided missiles, artillery, and cruise missiles rely on, causing them to miss their targets. The system can be deployed covertly from ships and includes a resilient communications network for friendly forces. Land-based versions have been tested for two years; a mid-July 2026 experiment off the U.S. West Coast marked its first successful maritime demonstration.
