🛰️🇪🇺 EUROPE'S BIGGEST TELECOMS EXPLORE JOINT SATELLITE SPECTRUM BID, A POSSIBLE RIVAL TO STARLINK: Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefónica and Vodafone have signed a letter of intent to explore a joint bid for future European spectrum for mobile satellite services, aimed at direct-to-smartphone connectivity. The companies reportedly would set up ground infrastructure in Europe but would not invest in their own satellites. The constellation would come from a satellite partner yet to be chosen. The four said the move would improve coverage in underserved areas and strengthen network resilience, and that it does not replace their existing satellite partnerships.
