⚖️ JUDGE RULES DOJ UNLAWFULLY FIRED MAURENE COMEY: A federal judge ruled Monday that the Trump administration unlawfully fired Maurene Comey, a Manhattan federal prosecutor and daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, in July 2025. U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman ordered her retroactive reinstatement and back pay through Dec. 20, 2025, when she took another job. In his 55-page ruling, Furman rejected the administration's argument that presidential authority overrides congressional protections for federal prosecutors. The Justice Department said it disagrees and will appeal.
