ISRAEL’S ELECTIONS COMMITTEE REJECTS EXTENSION OF VOTING HOUR — Israel’s Central Elections Committee has rejected requests from Likud, Shas and Otzma Yehudit to extend voting beyond 10 p.m. Tuesday despite record-high turnout and long lines at polling stations. The committee reportedly indicated it could reconsider the decision if circumstances change. Officials confirmed that anyone already in line by 10 p.m. will still be allowed to vote. Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party opposed the extension, arguing that no exceptional circumstances justified changing the schedule.
