BREAKING: FEDERAL RESERVE LEAVES INTEREST RATES UNCHANGED SIX DAYS BEFORE MIDTERM ELECTIONS — The Federal Reserve announced Wednesday that it will keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 3.75%–4.00%, following a quarter-point increase in September, its first rate hike in three years. The decision comes amid stubborn inflation, which reached 3.7% in September, and rising energy costs.
