BINANCE HIT BY SUSPECTED MULTIBILLION-DOLLAR HACK: Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao says the cryptocurrency exchange "looks like it was indeed hacked," after on-chain data showed roughly $2.5 billion to $2.8 billion in suspicious outflows. Tether and Circle froze about $1.8 billion of the funds, including $971 million in USDT and $823 million in USDC. Zhao, who no longer runs Binance, said user funds are safe and that he expects balances to be fully covered. Binance said it is investigating and has not confirmed that user funds were affected.
