Genazym, a prominent auction house specializing in rare Jewish books and Judaica, has listed a first edition of Noam Elimelech, one of the most revered works in Chassidic literature, with a starting price of $1 million ahead of its Nov. 8 auction. Printed in Lvov in 1788, the sefer was authored by Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk, a leading figure in early Chassidus. The first edition was published by his son two years after his father’s passing, fulfilling his father’s instruction to bring the work to print. Genazym estimates the volume’s value at $2 million. The catalog describes the copy as complete and well-preserved, with minor restoration to some margins.
