Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has referred religious washing and prayer facilities at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston to the U.S. Department of Justice for investigation, accusing the government-owned airports of religious discrimination. Abbott made the referral Friday in a letter to Attorney General Todd Blanche and Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon. Abbott said two Islamic ritual washing, or wudu, stations are already operating at DFW, while IAH has installed an ablution facility and an adjoining prayer room containing copies of the Quran, prayer rugs, prayer beads and a turbah.
