NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani did not speak Friday at the funeral of Army Sgt. Angel Sarah Rampersad, the 28-year-old Queens soldier killed in an Iranian missile attack in Jordan. Although Mamdani attended the service and prepared remarks, he was not invited to the podium. Sources familiar with the funeral said the family, citing political differences and a desire to avoid distractions, chose not to have him speak. City Hall declined to comment, while Mamdani's office later released his prepared remarks honoring Rampersad's service.
