💰🛢️ Shell reported a 70% jump in half-year profits to $16.75 billion, its best quarterly performance in four years, driven by oil and gas price volatility tied to the Iran war. Second-quarter earnings of $9.84 billion beat analyst expectations of $8.79 billion, more than double the $4.26 billion posted a year earlier. Shell's oil trading division was a major driver, with chemicals and products unit earnings jumping to $2.88 billion from just $118 million a year ago, even as the company's Pearl GTL site in Qatar remains offline after being damaged in the conflict.
