Ed Sheeran is facing growing backlash after opening act Macklemore used the stage at Sheeran’s MetLife Stadium concert on Saturday to deliver a pro-Palestinian political message and lead the crowd in chants of “Free Palestine.” Macklemore, wearing a keffiyeh, also performed his song “Hind’s Hall” as images from Gaza and pro-Palestinian demonstrations were shown on the stadium screens. Thousands of people took to social media to express their dismay and condemn Sheeran for allowing the political messaging at his concert.
