🛢️ HEATING OIL BILLS EXPECTED TO SURGE 21% THIS WINTER: The U.S. Energy Information Administration forecasts that households using heating oil will pay about 21% more this winter, an average of $2,115, as heating oil prices climb 34% from last year to $5.26 a gallon. Natural gas heating bills are expected to fall 9%, propane costs to drop 3%, and electric heating expenses to rise 4%. About 3% of U.S. households use heating oil, mostly in the Northeast. EIA says tight distillate supplies, low East Coast inventories and Middle East disruptions are pushing prices higher.
