U.S. imports of Saudi crude oil reportedly fell to zero in July for the first full month since 1985, as disruptions tied to the Strait of Hormuz conflict prompted Gulf supply shifts and forced U.S. refiners to seek alternative sources. Venezuelan crude filled much of the gap, with exports to the U.S. rising to about 600,000 barrels per day. According to Kpler, Saudi crude shipments to the U.S. are expected to rebound to roughly 300,000 barrels per day this month.
