Thailand’s prime minister appeared to direct unusually pointed remarks at Israelis and the country’s Jewish community Thursday, telling foreigners seeking private cemeteries or accused of breaking Thai laws that they should “go die back home, not here.” Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul made the comments at the Interior Ministry while discussing foreign-owned businesses, religious sites and a recent request to establish a private cemetery. “You cannot simply set up a religious site on your own,” Anutin said. He then referred specifically to the cemetery issue, saying foreigners who come to Thailand should make an honest living and, “If they are going to die, they should go die back home, not here.”
