The shakeup inside Israel’s Haredi political establishment is continuing, with the Belz Hasidic community preparing to replace longtime Knesset member Yisrael Eichler with Elyakim Stark ahead of the country’s upcoming election. Stark, who serves as chairman of Belz’s executive committee, is expected to become the community’s representative on the Agudat Yisrael side of United Torah Judaism. The decision was made about a week ago at the instruction of the Belzer Rebbe, according to Israel National News. Eichler has served intermittently in the Knesset since 2003 and has represented Belz for more than two decades.
