A Manhattan man was indicted Thursday by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on hate crime charges, including two counts of attempted murder as a hate crime, in connection with separate stabbing attacks targeting an Asian man and Moshe Yezhak Grunhaus, who had just left Tisha B'Av services at The Jewish Center on the Upper West Side. Prosecutors said Raul Morales, 51, carried out the attacks on July 23 while shouting "Allahu Akbar." Morales was indicted on multiple charges, including two counts of second-degree attempted murder as a hate crime. If convicted on the top charges, he faces up to 40 years in prison.
