🏥💰 NEW JERSEY HEALTH INSURANCE PREMIUMS TO JUMP NEARLY 20% IN 2027: New Jersey residents buying individual health insurance will face an average premium increase of 19.8% next year, according to the state Department of Banking and Insurance. UnitedHealthcare will see the largest average increase at 35.7%, followed by Oscar at 29.3%, Ambetter at 20.8%, AmeriHealth at 17% and Horizon at 15.3%. Insurers cite rising medical and prescription drug costs, along with a worsening risk pool after Congress let enhanced federal premium tax credits expire. The percentages apply to unsubsidized premiums, and many residents may qualify for financial assistance. Open enrollment begins November 1 and runs through January 31.
