CENTCOM: U.S. forces announced they destroyed the surveillance tower at Chah Bahar Shahid Kalantari Port on July 16, saying it was part of an IRGC maritime surveillance network used to monitor and target commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM said the strike degrades the IRGC's ability to coordinate attacks on civilian shipping and helps protect freedom of navigation, while enforcing the ongoing U.S. naval blockade against Iran.
