Spokane County authorities on Monday arrested 37-year-old Aaron F. Farinacci on suspicion of first-degree arson in connection with the Old Trails Fire, one of three major wildfires that have scorched parts of the Spokane, Washington area. The blaze, which started Saturday near Airway Heights, has destroyed hundreds of structures and forced roughly 65,000 people to evacuate. A witness reported seeing Farinacci acting suspiciously near the fire's origin, and investigators later found him in possession of waterproof matches and a butane lighter consistent with how the fire was started. He is being held on $1 million bail.
