🏠📈 MORTGAGE RATES HIT 7.5%, HIGHEST SINCE 2023: The average U.S. 30-year fixed mortgage rate rose to 7.50%, its highest level since November 2023, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association. Rates are up nearly a full percentage point since late June, pushing home-purchase applications down 4% for a sixth straight week, the longest losing streak in more than three years. Redfin also reported a 4% monthly drop in contract signings in September, while economists warn higher borrowing costs are likely to weigh heavily on home sales through the fourth quarter.
