📞 FCC CONSIDERS ALLOWING MORE POLITICAL ROBOCALLS — INCLUDING AI VOICES: The FCC is weighing a request from the Club for Growth to waive federal limits on unsolicited political robocalls to cellphones ahead of November's midterms, which would allow political groups to use prerecorded or AI-generated voices without prior consent. The group says the change would help political groups reach more voters, including in more languages, while critics, including FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez, warn of "a tsunami of robocalls and misinformation." Under the request, recipients could opt out and get no more than three calls in 30 days. Reply comments are due Oct. 19, and the FCC could rule as soon as late October.
