FBI ARRESTS CIA CONTRACTOR OVER ALLEGED LEAKS OF CLASSIFIED INTELLIGENCE ON ISRAEL: The FBI arrested Ian Brinksman, 42, of Washington, D.C., on Friday, accusing him of unlawfully transmitting national defense information to a journalist identified in court papers only as "Individual 1." Ynet reported she is Aída Chávez, who publishes the Substack Capital & Empire and has not been charged. Five stories allegedly drew on the material, three about Israel: reported Israeli lobbying for the U.S. to assassinate Iran's parliament speaker, a U.S. assessment of Israel's military ties with Washington, and a CIA scenario analysis of severe internal conflict in Israel ahead of its Oct. 27 election. The FBI recorded more than 800 calls or attempted calls between the two in 2026 and alleges Brinksman accessed classified reports outside his duties. He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
