The U.S. information technology sector has averaged an annual return of 9% over the past decade, making it the best-performing sector in the market and nearly matching the 13% annualized returns seen during the 2000 Dot-Com Bubble. Tech's annualized performance has doubled since the 2020 pandemic and now rivals the strongest gains posted by the communication services sector following the 2008 financial crisis. The IT sector has also led all U.S. sectors for seven straight years, its longest winning streak since the 1960s, underscoring the industry's continued dominance in the market.
