German authorities are investigating a death threat against Charlotte Knobloch, the 93-year-old president of the Jewish Community of Munich and Upper Bavaria and a Holocaust survivor. The threat was discovered Thursday on a park bench and a garbage bin in Munich’s English Garden. Police and state security officials launched an investigation into threats, incitement and property damage. Authorities said the message explicitly referenced the AfD’s recent election victory in Saxony-Anhalt. German media reported that the graffiti said, “The AfD has won, tomorrow we will hang Knobloch,” and included a Star of David.
