German authorities are investigating what appears to have been an attempted explosive drone attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport after a drone carrying an explosive device was reportedly discovered near Ukrainian cargo aircraft, according to BILD. The outlet reports the drone was found late Tuesday night on the airport apron with a package that tested positive for explosive material. An X-ray reportedly revealed a detonator, but investigators believe it malfunctioned, preventing an explosion. The device has been preserved for forensic analysis, and BILD says NATO investigators are expected to assist in the investigation.
