A high-ranking Mount Vernon police official was fired Tuesday after being arrested and charged with attempted murder and conspiracy for allegedly helping her son flee the scene of a Bronx shooting, authorities said. Jennifer Lackard, 49, who served as deputy police commissioner, was taken into custody at her Bronx home along with her son, Chase Lackard, 20. Prosecutors allege she drove the getaway vehicle after her son allegedly opened fire on a group of people outside Bronx Criminal Court on June 29.
