🇮🇱⚓ ISRAEL’S NEW INS DRAKON SUBMARINE EN ROUTE HOME: Israel’s sixth submarine, the INS Drakon (“Dragon”), is on its way from Germany to Israel after a send-off ceremony at the Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems shipyard in Kiel, the IDF and Defense Ministry announced. The advanced Dolphin 2-class submarine is equipped with new technologies designed to expand the Israeli Navy’s operational capabilities. It will be welcomed with another ceremony at Haifa Naval Base upon arrival. The submarine was initially slated to be named Dakar, after the Israeli submarine lost in 1968, but following objections from bereaved families, “Dakar” will instead be used for Israel’s next generation of submarines expected in the early 2030
