A growing political dispute has erupted in Britain over an upcoming Macklemore concert, with 50 members of the House of Lords calling on the government to prevent the American rapper from entering the country. According to The Telegraph, the lawmakers have written to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood requesting that she deny the performer entry ahead of his scheduled Friday appearance at Wembley Arena in London. Macklemore, whose legal name is Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, is currently on a sold-out tour carrying the title "Free Palestine." The London performance is the third stop on the tour. Proceeds are expected to support Palestinian organizations and charitable causes, including the Palestine Youth Movement (PYM).
