Hundreds of protesters flooded the streets after an ICE agent fired seven rounds at a vehicle during a targeted operation in Marble Hill, striking 28-year-old Oscar Belgal in the neck while his 5-year-old son sat unharmed in the backseat. DHS says Belgal has a criminal history, alleged gang ties and rammed two vehicles during the encounter. Four protesters were later arrested outside the hospital. Mayor Zohran Mamdani called the shooting an “outrage” and renewed his call to abolish ICE.
