FORMER OPENAI ENGINEER ACCUSED OF SPYING AMID ALLEGED SAUDI GOVERNMENT TIES: Former OpenAI engineer Abdulrahman Alfozan, 35, a Saudi national, is accused of secretly installing a recording device in an executive conference room at the company’s San Francisco offices. According to Reuters, prosecutors say he maintained frequent contact with a Saudi royal family member and may have received significant government support. A Saudi military official allegedly paid for one-way flights for his wife and son to return to Saudi Arabia. Prosecutors are seeking to keep him detained pending trial, arguing he is a flight risk. Alfozan faces charges of attempting to intercept private communications, which his lawyer plans to contest. Saudi officials have not commented.
