🔴 LONG ISLAND MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED ARSON ATTEMPT AT WEST HEMPSTEAD SHUL: Nassau County police arrested Azzm Khan, 29, of Lakeview, after he allegedly attempted to set fire to Young Israel of West Hempstead late Wednesday night. Police say Khan struck the shul’s doors with a baseball bat before lighting a lawn sign on fire and attempting to push it under the entrance. He then allegedly set a nearby bush ablaze and repeatedly kicked the doors, causing damage. The shul’s security team reported that Khan appeared to be receiving instructions from someone over his cellphone. Khan was arrested without incident and charged with two counts of arson and two counts of criminal mischief.
