🏠 NEW HOME PRICES DROP SHARPLY: The average price of a new U.S. single-family home fell 9.1% in August to $478,700, down $47,700 from July, while the median price dropped 5.8% year-over-year to $393,700. At the same time, new-home sales rose 6.4% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 684,000 as builders reportedly offered lower prices and incentives to move inventory.
