🇳🇴🇨🇳 REPORT — CHINESE-LINKED RENTAL CARS RECORDED NORWEGIAN SOLDIERS DURING MAJOR EXERCISE: Rental cars used during Norway's Exercise Hovedstad near Oslo on Sept. 14–18 automatically recorded and stored video of soldiers getting in and out, their routes and locations, and access codes entered at military gates and doors, DN reports. At least two of the vehicles were Chinese-made Deepal models, rented from a company linked to Volvo Cars, which is majority-owned by China's Geely. The military kept using the cars because few alternatives were available. The recordings were deleted afterward, but it is unclear whether the data was stored anywhere beyond the cars. Volvo says Chinese ownership poses no security risk.
