✈️ *NEW YORK* - Air traffic control staffing shortages, combined with severe weather, disrupted flights at New York's three major airports - JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark - along with Philadelphia International on Monday, according to FAA advisories. The FAA temporarily slowed and, at times, halted flights into the airports, with arrivals into JFK seeing the worst of it: average delays topped two hours. FlightAware reported 20-30% of flights canceled across the four airports, with ground delays averaging between 71 and 149 minutes. The FAA said staffing at the New York Air Route Traffic Control Center remains just 57% of targeted levels, and the agency expected travel disruptions to continue through the evening.
